Inspiration

(Morgan Freeman as) Mandela: "Tell me, Francois; What is your philosophy on leadership? How do you inspire your team to do their best?"

(Matt Damon as) François: "By example. I've always thought to lead by example, sir."

Mandela: "Well that is right, that is exactly right. But how to get them to be better than they think they can be? That is very difficult, I find. Inspiration, perhaps. How do we inspire ourselves to greatness when nothing less will do?

Bad Weather?

Here is a proverb i've heard before, but really like how i was able to form it in Spanish:

No existe tiempo malo, solo vestido no apropriado.

(There's no such thing as bad weather, just improper attire)

Günter de Bruyn, an old East German author i'm reading for one of my courses this term, puts it this way: "Schlechtes und gutes [Wetter] gab es für sie nicht: nur Kleidung, die ihm nicht entsprach."
