Find Scientist Jobs!!

Yesterday an angsty prospective landlord asked me what i did for a living. Being put on the spot and aiming to instill confidence in the would-be money vampire i retorted: "i work with people with disabilities." Which is pretty much true. Except that i don't presently do this. Presently i do nothing. This isn't to say that i'm not busy trying to get busy (because i am, as you know).
Some possible suggestions from both myself, my wife, and others are as follows (PLEASE SUGGEST MORE, BOTH SERIOUS AND NOT-SO!):
-German-English or Spanish-English interpreter or translator
-foreign language (or English language) tour guide in S.F. or some interesting natural or historical site
-park ranger
-scientist
-personal assistant to PWDs
-tutor
-teacher or professor (i would need further schoolin' and accreditation to pursue either of these)
-worship leader
-bouncer
-public relations writer
-appliance removal and installation technician (i have been doing this for my dad's company but don't plan on continuing with it nor calling a career, though i do get great satisfaction out of a job well done. which leads me to my next few possibilities...)
-construction worker
-strawberry harvester
-menial laborer
-janitorial staff member
-journeyman (i don't really know what this means, but i've been seeing it in the classifieds and i like the ring of it.)
-environmental worker
-solar panel installer
-activist
-actor
Of course there's always this last option:

scientist jobs tend to pay ok and be more consistent, do you have a science degree?
Aaron, I truly think that you should be a mentor for troubled children. You have such a great heart and show such compassion for people. I think that you can truly help people and change their lives for the better.
ROFL, Aaron, I loved that last blog entry!! So funny, and I have so been there and STILL am. I still have no idea what I am going to do.
"real success w/o a job" LOL!
Hmm, as far as advice....I see you being happiest when involved in nature, landscapes....and contemplating.
I don't know how that will play out in your life, but it will I am sure.
Perhaps nature will just be a part of you life and not part of you job per say.
...
Good luck with the job search - I feel your pain, man!
peace,
Ashley Wells
Hi folks, how do you do ??
Well, my name's Ivan and I have to admit I am kind of a dinosaur stalled in the Jurasic eve as far as blogs management is concerned for I have no damn idea how to write sth in a bog either it belongs to me or to sb else. I beg yr excuses.
So I'm gonna use this e-mail as a forum to express my opinion about AC's coming future / profession / Beruf, etc , and then I'll pray for this to be turned into an AC's blog opinion, a'ight guys ?? Thank you.
I think you, Mr. AC from San José, could be a proper preacher, a sheperd, a trickster ( meaning those people who used to sell growhair products and elixirs of life in the Far West trade shows in the late 19th century ) because there is no doubt about yr summon-power. Can you guys imagine Aaron Choate in his waggon, properly dressed for the occasion, including a top hat enhancing his attire and now & then raising his cane to be payed attention ??
But if your intention is other I mean if you would like to sell solar energy please let me know since I'am about to finish my solar studies and want to make a career out of this.
Kinf Regards for every1
Ivan from Barcelona
My vote is for one of the following:
Park Ranger (add some plaid and you could be that famous logger:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bunyan_(lumberjack))
Interpretor/Translator (but only if you're not selling stripper shoes to Germans)
Worship Leader (It's like being a rockstar, but only once a week)
Jeff.
ps. I'm seeing MxPx & Lakes (EagerSeas/WatashiWa) tonight @ Chain Reaction.

The only "degree" i have in science is some degree of knowledge that science exists, that i think it's great, and that i took some science classes...
But hey, this is America, right?
anonymous 2:
Thank you kindly for your vote of confidence. Actually, regardless of my choice of profession, i really hope to volunteer as a mentor soon with some organization. While i was still living in OC i wanted to be a mentor, but most of them had longer commitments than i was able to...well, commit to at the time. But now i should be able to commit! Thanks for the reminder :)
Ashley: Thanks for your kind words and helpful advice. Commenting on blogs is not that hard, either, though i love getting e-mails from you too, so either way.
Ivan: What else can i say?!?
"Aaron Choate in his waggon, properly dressed for the occasion, including a top hat enhancing his attire and now & then raising his cane to be payed attention ??"
wow.
Jeff: Thanks! And also, whatever man.
Maybe you can mentor a scientist's child and use that as a way to covertly absorb as much science knowledge as possible, which could then be leveraged to find a "real" "job" which would pay "actual" "money."
But I say thee, nay! I'm going with Jeff here and saying LUMBERJACK ALL THE WAY!!!
Honestly... park ranger or bouncer (Excuse me Mr. Bouncer, I'm with the DJ)
