"California: Los Angeles--Airport commissioners approved $7.7 million in renovations to two Los Angeles International Airport gates to accommodate the 555 passenger Airbus A380. LAX expects to spend a total of $53 million to accommodate the double-decker airliner, which begins service next year.
Oregon: Oregon City--Experts in several Oregon counties are using sentinal chickens as a warning system for the mosquito-bourne West Nile virus. The chickens act as bait for mosquitos that may be carrying the virus. They're a good barometer of the disease because they don't get sick from the virus or infect anything. The birds develop antibodies if bitten by an infected mosquito."
Great. We get millions and millions of dollars spent on airplane traffic and Oregon gets sentinal chickens. Why oh why can't we be as sweet as them?! i mean, at least we oughtta be spending our millions on the production of electric cars to eliminate the gas market, or maybe the production of more efficient electric planes, or maybe that phantom high speed train system from San Francisco to LA and San Diego that never seems to get planned or built. Plus we'll probably get West Nile virus because we don't have any sentinal chickens.
Everyone please do me a favor. Contemplate the term: Sentinal Chickens! You had better be laughing by now, cause you KNOW it's hilarious!
